It was SO, SO good to hear your voice and your heart. Wouldn’t it be great if I could come over this weekend and we could sit on a porch and spend time together? Love you.
I would love love love to share porch time with you. So much of life to catch up on. I treasure our times together.
You have always been an excellent storyteller. For one, I selfishly love this blog (it’s good for me) but I also love that you are stepping toward creativity and sharing your gifts. This is so you.
thank you kelly for the encouragement. love being in the artist way with you. you always bring Christmas morning to me.
Precious, you are so right. We have so much communication at our fingertips but so little real
connection today.
I love the idea of “porch stories”.. Sounds like the perfect
activity with the grandkids.
love you,
anna
thank you anna. i loved grandma and grandpa’s screened in porch. i remember sneaking oscars carmels out of the dish and eating them on the porch. he must have dreaded to see us coming. if i were him i would have hid the carmels. but then maybe they were for us, i like that version better.
i missed not being able to sing around the piano with you and the family. what harmony we all have.
EEEEGGGHH! Those are my squeels of delight. I am so excited to see and hear you, to be on your virtual porch! I am sitting with the window open, wishing for a porch or hammock. I can’t wait for many more of these. I need to catch up on Liam’s too.
I absolutely love those random connection moments. I was with a gal at a coffee shop a week or so ago and this guy overheard our conversation and ended up coming over and talking to us forever. My friend felt the urge to argue over some of his points about the Bible. I was excited to listen, ask questions and wonder about his personal story. I felt like we gained from that night but also felt happy to have given him our ears and care. I had the feeling people don’t often take the time to listen and hear some of these ideas he thinks on quite often.
Thanks for sharing with us through Emma House, to listen, to observe, to care and connect.
Love, L
thank you so much for your sweet words. they really bless me. i wish we could have a conversation face to face. glad that God used emma house to remind you of the importance to listen, observe, care and connect. i miss your sweet smile. you bless those around you with love and care.
I too, have always loved porches and cherish the day you walked onto my porch and became my lifelong friend. Seeing and hearing you on this weblog was wonderful and I want to see and hear you more! When the weather is nice, how about speaking from a porch : ) Love you, Teresa
thank you for your sweet comment. landing on your porch in langley was a life changing day for me. you are a lifelong friend. i plan to tell stories at various porch venues. having fun thinking about it.
love this! can’t wait for more.
first of all … i love the mustard wall…. i love the lessons from the porch… keep them coming.
So encouraging! Thanks for sharing your stories and looking forward to more. Love you!
i would love a visit with you. i miss you. thank you for your encouragement
I loved your story! Keep them coming. I recall sitting with you on Grandpa and Grandma’s porch in Bessemer, MI and enjoying the view of the flowers, brook and the long road to mom’s home place.
remember sneaking oscars carmels from the dish and eating them on the porch? what did he do when he saw us coming?
Lovely, Precious! Thank you!
WOW! This was wonderful. I have missed you so much and this filled my cup (for today). I have felt so burdened with “my little old people”. This 5 minutes helped to renew my strength and reminds me to give them time with a happy heart. I love you Precious and am thrilled that you are taking the time to inspire me and others. You are amazing!
Also, you look fabulous.
Thank you Precious. I yearn for front porches, too. I really loved the older ones telling stories. I love it.
so glad to be back in communication with you. thanks for the encouragement. i love the older ones telling stories as well. so much wisdom. just when they have much to say few folk want to listen. lets change that.
very cool, Precious. i look forward to more.
Thank you for the encouragement. When I think of some of my favorite storytellers, you come to mind.
truly honored.
I miss porches and hanging out with family and friends on them. I think of rocking chairs, lemonade, and kids riding bikes on the sidewalk. Those were the days. thank you, Precious, for this reminder. We still need those kinds of connections.
To my favorite porch companion. Thank you for helping me see.
